June 24, 201213 yr Sorry for making the post here if it's not the correct place to put it, please feel free to let me know where it should be! I've been looking high and low for a dash 8 Q400, and found the premier aircraft to have a nice external model with a decent virtual cockpit, but I have a hard time getting past how much raw power the aircraft has. I reach 150 knots before realizing to rotate and get the aircraft off the ground, and when I do, it keeps increasing the airspeed dramatically! I have to keep a 4,000 FPM climb just to keep it below 250 knots under 10,000 feet. I don't want to ditch the plane completely so I'm trying to figure out to see if I can reduce the power the airplane has. It doesn't slow too easily (as I think the real aircraft is like, but I'm not too sure) but that's just fine for me, the aircraft is free so it's a good addition to FS. I looked in the aircraft.cfg file but I'm not sure which of the lines to configure. I have: [GeneralEngineData] engine_type =5 Engine.0 =10.800, -14.200, -0.000 Engine.1 =10.800, 14.200, -0.000 fuel_flow_scalar =0.3000 min_throttle_limit =-0.50000 [TurbineEngineData] fuel_flow_gain =0.01100 inlet_area =0.02500 rated_N2_rpm =29920.00000 static_thrust =300.00 //200.00000 reverser_available=0 afterburner_available=0 afterburner_throttle_threshold=0.01100 ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption=0.01100 AfterBurnThrustSpecificFuelConsumption=0.01100 [turboprop_engine] power_scalar =2.00 //1.00000 maximum_torque =15132.32500 I think one of these three should be it, but was hoping a fellow member could help. Thanks in advance! =) R. Dawson
October 17, 201213 yr I am having the same trouble, I have tried tweaking the aircraft.cfg but I don't know what all of the settings do (exactly) and don't want to mess it up. Has anyone got a tweaked file that they would be happy to share ?
