Hello,

I will be building my new rig later this month and thought about adding a SSD to put FSX in. Also I'll be putting Win7 OS onto an HDD. Now from what I read boot times are faster if you put the OS in the SSD. In my case I don't really care for the decreased boot time for the OS. I'm more concerned for FSX to boot up faster thus that is why I am putting the FSX in the SSD.

My question is when I install FSX and all my other addons in to the SSD... is that all I have to do? Or is there more to it than I think?

Thanks.

I understand what you wan't too achieve, but I think there is more time to be saved to do it the other way around. Unless you're loading up FSX and flights all the time. I myself have both OS and FSX on an SSD.

That beeing said, Check that you have the latest firmware and enable ACHI in bios.

I actually forgot I made this topic here. But yeah I decided to put both W7 and FSX into the SSD and have all my other documents, installers, etc.. onto the HDD. Thanks for the reply!

One more thing. If you put FSX and OS on the same SSD, you might want too have an eye on your free space. SSD tend too slow down when they start to reach their capacity.

My SSD is 128gb and I got W7, apps, some "light" games and FSX on it. I only have 37gb left.. I don't know where it all went.. :o
