  1. I didn't say it was that tough, I just find it strange that PMDG do it like this now.
  2. Hi PMDG and fellow simmers. After the newly mandatory sign-in-to-read post on AVSIM, I feel that it would be nice for PMDG to maybe croospost theirs updates on ongoing project to another site where you don't have to be a member to read. I feel that it's not the best solution for me as a reader to often sign in and read the updates, and I think many of PMDG's potential cutsmoers are missing out, also I mention that it's probably not a good marketing media. I hope this not comes out as rude, since that is not my purpose. Neither is the purpose of critizing AVSIM in any way. Thanks.
  3. The reason I'm buying PMDG products is their outstanding details, simulated systems, manuals and models. For me, half of the fun with an aircraft like PMDG is too learn and read about its systems. Since I now know how things work in a Boeing cockpit, there isn't that much too learn anymore. Therefore I would love too see an Airbus, since I'm a widebody fan, an A340 series or A330 series would be perfect. But the 777 definitely going too keep me busy for a long time.
  4. Maybe extreme is somewhat extreme expression? What I mean is that you seem too achieve something that have never been achieved before. Therefore I use the word extreme, and therefore I think a proof will be in the place. I'm not saying that your testing is wrong! don't misunderstand on this one. I'm a friendly guy.
  5. That's great Word Not Allowed! But the statements you're coming with are very extreme, so I would like too ask if you have something to back them up with? I'm not trolling here, I'm just asking since I've never heard anything like this before. Could it be that there is a factor outside the mobo?
  6. It's great too see that you want too build your own PC. It's definitely money too be saved here, and you are going too learn a lot about PC.How much video editing are you doing? If it's something you will prioritize, I would recommend the i7 3770K. Otherwise, go for the i5 3570K. My recommendation are build upon you overclocking. The i7 3770K supports hyperthreading, which the i5 3570K doesn't. This is what I came up with: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($169.99 @ Microcenter) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($23.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($122.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($39.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ NCIX US) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($287.55 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($51.98 @ Newegg) Total: $751.48 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) You will need a case, OS and maybe an optical drive. I believe you can squeeze in an 3770K here also. But the system will be great for FSX and the upcoming PMDG 777. I'm sure that some other users here are able to shave off some more money out of the performance.
  7. First of all, I think you want to argue for the sake of argue, which I'm perfectly fine with.:) And you're talking in disfavor of what you want to achieve I think. What I mean is that a water based system should be a completely separate system. With a resvoir, pump, etc. I don't mean that an H100 isn't water(I mean o/c a liquid solution here, not 100% water) based. You're misunderstanding me. I disagree. You will simply not gain any experience on a H100 that will help you in a separate water solution. Maybe the radiator will give some idea, but that's it. I'm talking mainly about the guys who like to go from, lets say 4.6 to 5.0. I think that every one that are running a water based system can agree with me on the point that the 0.4, or lets say 0.8 for the sake of the argument, isn't worth it objectively. Subjectively, sure it is. Hence my "But, if you have the money and interest, I'll say go for it"Edit: And the point where IB peaks is more "dramatically" than the others. So it does actually apply to IB more than others.
  8. Yes, I am. Why do you think I'm not? Don't edit your post, you should rather quote me, then I can see it. You should also come with some arguments, then I can see your point. I don't understand what you mean where I'm wrong. Sorry for poor English btw.
  9. IMO, I think it's wrong to see a H100 as a water based system. You should see a water based system as what it is. It is a system that requires maintenance, despite what Word Not Allowed says(no offense Word Not Allowed:)) You should do some tweaking and maintenance once a year, at least. Preferably more often o/c. Unless you have very special needs, I don't see any reason to get a water based cooling system on IB. But, if you have the money and interest, I'll say go for it.
  10. Thanks guys, but I'm a little confused. They say motherboard raid is bad, but hardware raid is ok. AFAIK I have both? Hardware raid in a chip on the mobo.
  11. I've had problems with this from an old Sempron to a new Phenom. I got BSOD's and a slow system as a result. Maybe it is a straight forward thing most of the times, but my experience tells me something different. I wouldn't recommend it.
  12. Maybe it will, but I wouldn't recommend it. All your drivers and settings are set for the old system, so you should expect issues. You should at least uninstall all drivers before doing this.
  13. GTX 680. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/555?vs=517
  14. I'm about to make a hardware RAID0 of two 500GB 7200rpm HDD's. I've read that RAID0 is not a good solution for FSX, but there are little to non info to back that statement up. I mean, if I already have the RAID, should I still put FSX on a single drive?
