July 5, 201213 yr Hey guys, it has been a long time since I posted anything in the hardware forum (just because everything is now working as expected) but now I´ve got something for you to help me: My parents will buy me an laptop as a present for my successful school degree. I might give them some hints but there are soo much different models and companies making laptops that it´s very difficult to get an good overview over the market. Maybe you guys can help me on this? I know that I won´t run FSX on that (I´ve got my main system for that) but some other games (like World of Tanks and so on) together with FS speciffic programms (maybe REX, mainly Plan-G and some other). My specifications are: - shouldn´t cost more than 800€ - Intel i5/i7 (Ivy or Sandy Bridge) - dedicated nVidia GFX card - 500 GB HDD (doesn´t have to be SSD) - good and preferably big display - good looking That´s it. Maybe you guys can point me to some models I could tell them. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
July 5, 201213 yr Intel i5/i7 (Ivy or Sandy Bridge) In laptops this could still mean dual core processors. Did you mean "i5/i7" as "quad core"? I've been looking for a similarly speced laptop lately and it's not easy with a quad + GT640m or GT650m plus a good 15'' matte screen.

I thought of quad core but that might get a bit too expensive and for what I need it, a new dual core should be up to it. Or not? Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
July 5, 201213 yr Author Deviltech are pretty good Fire DTX Hell Fire These are looking great but maybe a bit too expensive. I´ll try to concetntrate on the ones from Asus or Sony as theirs seem to be pretty spot on. I don´t really need an dedicated gaming laptop. But what I don´t want is one with an integrated Intel HD grafic as that´s crap for anything more advanced than word. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
