I play the sim without traffic and airport services as my sim is significantly smoother with these off. I remember hearing about some software that works at default airports and only tends to do anything whilst the aircraft is stationary, thus negating any FPS issues as all I tend to do is setup my NGX at a stand still. What I mean is, I think it may bring coaches, lifts, baggage...etc!

 

Could somebody please remind me of the software name? I'm unsure whether it was GSX, AES, or something else!

That's GSX from FSDreamteam. It runs in trial mode at some airports (stated in the manual) which should allow a proper test with the plane of your choice. It also offers a follow me car, so you may find your way around more easily.

Thanks very much - will buy it. Just tested and no FPS drop whatsoever - one thing though, how does the boarding work versus the flows of FS2Crew? They both seem to have boarding options...!
