Has anyone ever figured out how to lower that god awful ambient sound when you turn on the Battery Switches for the E-Jets? It's deafening and unrealisticly loud.

Hi,

I thinks that's the default FSX FUELPUMP WAV file sound that you're referring to; do you hear the same sound in the Cessna?

It can be adjusted to be quieter using a freeware sound prog (i.e. Audacity), so that it won't be so obtrusive, but just audible in the background. When you switch on the fuel pump in GA before firing up the engine, you should listen out for the unmistakable sound of the fuel pump doing its thing to know that its working, as well as checking the fuel pressure gauge.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm, I'll have to try that out and report my findings. Interesting if that indeed is what that sound is.

That was definitely the file. Thanks much for the help! Just need to figure out how to edit the file without looping the button click, but I'll get it.

No worries!

As an alternative to remixing the original FSX wav file, you could try adopting one from other freeware (or payware) aircraft as they often have better fuelpump wav sounds. It may be worth making a backup of your original file (if I recall correctly, the original fuelpump wav file in the sounds DIR is "fuel_pump.wav" but I'm not at my PC right now), and then copying and renaming a more preferable wav file in its place.

Good luck!
