May 28, 200422 yr Author Clarification: the zipped executable that you download is NOT THE ALEXA toolbar. It is an exec'd HTML file that is placed in your /program directory and on your desktop that allows you to bring up comparative stats provided by Alexa. It does not import spyware from Alexa. On the web page is a link to Alexa if you are interested in obtaining the toolbar, but the program from AVSIM does not put anything other than an HTML page on your system. The link we provide on the HTML Page does go to the Alexa website. You are free to choose whether you wish to use the toolbar or not. I agree, Alexa is a well known spyware/adware program, and because it is well known, we thought it prudent to give the user a choice. The link does not commence downloading of the tool. The user has the opportunity to read the terms of use, which we absolutely encourage before installing it. You do NOT need to run the Alexa toolbar to take advantage of the statistics, which is what the HTML page provides (at no risk to you or your computer).
