July 8, 201213 yr Interesting read. I woudn't say that latency isn't important any more thou. But as they say, lowering the timing by 1 unit is having less effect at higher speeds. Who remember the desirable 2-2-2-5 1T Timings with the 400Mhz DDR Memory? That same latency is 12-12-12-30 1T with 2400MHz DDR3. The 2nd best was 2.5 as cas timing on the DDR memory. That equals cas 15 on the 2400Mhz DDR3.
