Gatwick

Featured Replies

For those that don't know, Gatwick is the first airport in the world to have a bridge over a taxi-way able to take aircraft the size of the mighty B747. Today saw the first aircraft to test the bridge a 747, which was built 1 mile from the site and was lifted into place over the last week. It won't be openned to the public/passengers until next spring, but anyway here is a small article about it...http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/souther...ies/3756111.stm

Very cool.

and on the Baa websitehttp://www.baa.com/main/airports/gatwick/a...er_6_frame.html(apologies to anyone reading this who lives nowhere near / hasn't heard of / doesn't care about this airport)Now all I need is the Gary Summons Uk2000 version and for them to reopen Skyview :)Pierre

Has anyone ever done an fps friendly version of Gatwick for FS2002/FS2004? I flew out of there back in '84 on a BAC-111 (British Caledonian) enroute to EHAM (my summation of that flight--we went up, we went down)..... I imagine Gatwick's changed a bit since then...-John

Hi,I really like Uk2000 by Gary Summons - http://www.uk2000scenery.com/.Although I haven't updated to the very latest version, mine is very dense and very fps friendly. Really recreates the atmosphere well. Only problem is it's payware though. I think you get it either in Uk2000 part 3 or you can buy it as a single stand-alone airport.Haven't tried another version recently released by OSS - http://www.onlinesimulationsolutions.com/, but I read a review that said it was pretty good too (although you can probably tell where I'm biased towards already). Now off to watch airliners at the real thing (again :-))BestPierre
