July 7, 201213 yr Similar to the old L1011 and other products from Aerosim, apparently the new 787 suffers from the same FD problem. Some time into the flight at cruise alt, the FD kicks off, autopilot disconnects, and no amount of clicking, reloading a/c, etc, will make them work again. Anyone found ways around this on older products that might be tried? Dan Dominik "I thought you said your dog does not bite.... That's not my dog."
July 8, 201213 yr Author And NOW it would seem Aerosim's wonderful new product has "broken" the FD in all my other FSX aircraft.... excellent. The FD will not activate in any other default or add-on aircraft- anyone experiencing a similar issue lately? Dan Dominik "I thought you said your dog does not bite.... That's not my dog."
July 16, 201213 yr Well, i have the 787 installed and don´t have any of this in here. I think you need to search for something else in your fs. July 24, 201213 yr Author Update: After contacting Aerosim regarding the problem (not reproducable on their end unfortunately, but they responded quickly) I backed all the way up to pre-installation. After many steps it turned out the problem occurred on my system when saving a flight with the 787 loaded. If the default flight was saved with the 787 the issue occurred immediately and affected all other aircraft. If a saved flight was loaded (with the default flight set to a default aircraft) the issue would appear some time into the flight, again subsequently affecting all other aircraft and flights, but sometimes not at all (or late enough that the flight was concluded prior to reappearing). The main way to avoid the FD problem here was to avoid a default flight set with the 787. Saved states are hit-and-miss, but this is acceptable IMO based on the frequency there. August 6, 201213 yr Author Mick, I struggled with this until I created and save as the default flight a startup location with one of the default FSX aircraft. After exiting and reloading the sim I've been able to create flights and load the 788 with none of the FD issues since (not even on long flights anymore). Hope this helps.
