May 30, 200422 yr A couple of weeks ago I read about a download of an Airbus using the onboard computer which offers the safety and ease of control normally found on these aircraft. For instance the pilot sets the bank angle or pitch (using his stick)and the computer does the rest.Does anybody know where I can find that download please?
May 31, 200422 yr CliffNot entirely clear whether you mean pay or freeware. If the latter then you should look at Eric Marciano's Airbus panels which are probably the best around with maybe Mike Stone's aircraft. For my money, and perhaps anyone's, PSS Airbuses are the business.Hope this helpsTony
May 31, 200422 yr I think you're searching for the FlyByWire system. PSS doesn't inplement it completely. Although, there is one anoooother company, who also made the Airbus, although very buggy, and so they claim that they made real FBW system. I own PSS, which are pretty neat to fly, and PMDG which are top class. If you want Airbuses, I'd suggest PSS.
May 31, 200422 yr Thanks for replying so promptly Word Not Allowed and Tony.I reckon I'll wait till the bugs are ironed out in a payware package presumably on offer one fine day. What a dream it must be to fly one of the new Airbuses for real. It makes my time flying Tigers, Chipmonks and Pipers seem like playing with bicycles.
May 31, 200422 yr The Wilco A320 Pilot-in-Command implements it, and is better and worse than the PSS busses. It's buggier, but it is more in depth. I like it much more than the PSS versions actually. Up to you- honestly though, forget the 'bus and make the jump to the PMDG 737 NG. Best plane ever...
May 31, 200422 yr Correction on the freeware suggestion.. Eric Marciano's panel is an airbus freeware must have. The model however to accompany it is another thing. My suggestion. June 1, 200422 yr I've taken the plunge and installed the PMDG 737 NG. Now to start on the learning curve.............Thanks for the tip.Regards,
