July 15, 201213 yr any suggestions appreciated ... If you have a problem with a product, post in that product's forum. If you have a question about scenery design, post here in the scenery design forum.
July 15, 201213 yr Hi Alan, Thanks for posting this. Do you mean that you find the different textures on the hills to be the problem? Land class has a gradient map that displays different textures for the same land class assignment according the the slope of the ground. So, as the slope becomes greater, the texture that is displayed changes. Usually, urban textures are not displayed on slopes, and instead some sort of forest texture will display instead. So, if this is the issue that is bothering you, then rest assured that it is normal in FS, and I imagine in Prepar3D. By the way, cool Lancair! Lance, Alan contacted me privately about this and I suggested he post here with screenshots. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
July 16, 201213 yr Author Hi Luis ... as the saying goes 'a picture paints a thousand words' so below is an example of the problem: the elements of the scenery displayed simply don't fit into a coherent whole, as if whatever process allocates textures to terrain is kaput! P.S. by way of a bonus for you here's one i took looking West at KLAX where you will note the sea has (miraculously) become land ... Look forward to your thoughts ... regards Alan
July 16, 201213 yr Sorry, Alan, your problem was not very clear. If you have confusion in textures and if the sea has turned to land, then the most common cause is some add-on scenery that you have installed. It has most likely modified the terrain.cfg and you may have not correctly configured the package. Somebody else might point out the package for you, but I remember that there are one or two or more commercial packages that can give this result. If nobody else can give you a tip, then I suggest you uninstall all commercial packages, and reinstall carefully according to the instructions. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
