June 1, 200422 yr I have saved a bunch of flights in FS9 which I plan on sharing with anyone who wants them (should be in the library by Friday, as an aside). They are a series of ten legs along a much longer trail, er...flight path...;)HOWEVER...I want to make the flights such that they contain a minimum amount of information, meaning I don't want someone who loads the flight to have all of my settings replace their settings. I'd also like to not have the flight saved with a specific aircraft, so if someone wants to use a specific plane to fly each flight, loading the next leg won't automatically switch the aircraft to the one I've saved the flight with...When opening the *.FLT in notepad, a whole host of sections representing a large amount of options are included in the saved flight. An example is the window.1 section. I've discovered that deleting that whole section causes the flight to start with no panel open, however deleting just the "SpotFastTransition" line stops the flight from resetting the user's "gradual transitions" view option. Also, the GPS engine section lists the current flight plan using an explicit complete path to the .pln file, making sharing that aspect of the flight impossible, as the .pln is usually stored in C:Documents and settings{current user}My DocumentsFlight Simulator Files....So my question(s) is what would comprise a minimal .flt file such that user settings are minimally affected? Is there a way to save a flight without saving the aircraft? Can a .flt be shared with flight plan information loaded? Thanks for any tips!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
