June 3, 200422 yr I created a very short video of a landing sequence (about 1 min) in lenght. However the file is 350mb in size! what can I do to get this down to say 10mb. Ive seen people create longer videos that are about this size. Is there a utility I need to shrink it down in size? Any help is appreciated.Rob
June 3, 200422 yr Commercial Member You really need to run it through some sort of video production program. I use Microsoft Movie Maker 2, which is a free downloadable update of the movie maker which comes with Windows XP. One great thing about this is that you have a lot of choice when it comes to file size -- you can either tailor the video for a particular purpose, or aim for a particular file size, and WMM will work out the details. For instance, the Taranaki video I've just put on my site comes in two sizes, one big, one little, but the length stays the same. The smaller one is not only smaller in dimensions, but more compressed. So what starts out as about 1 gigabyte of uncompressed video becomes one 'good' video at 25MB, and one 'acceptable' video at 6MB.Take a look at the video on my site below. The big one is for faster connections, the smaller one is for modems.I'm a big fan of Windows Movie Maker, but only version 2, the first one was pretty lame.
