July 20, 201213 yr Hello Again! I have a question about aircraft in flight sim (add-on). With planes like the NGX and the Carenado's, and even Alabeo, why has Wilco so far been the only developers to implement reflective cockpit metal inside. I am referring to the Airbus series, both volumes I believe. When you turn the aircraft, at a certain heading it accurately reflects the light, to make it look insanely realistic. Now don't get me wrong, I think the Airbus X, Blackbox and FSL A320 all look better, with exterior and accuracy, however this reflected metal is something I haven't come across yet. It really makes you feel like you are in a real cockpit, not jet a sim. I have included a link to two videos below, one from FS2004IVAO with the Wilco Vol 1 and the other by FSXFS2002 with the Airbus X. I realize they are different styles of videos, however which do you think looks more like real life, especially looking at around 1:08 to 1:50? You decide. -DMac10121 Wilco... Airbus X... , I am referring to the metal above the gauges, not the actual glass gauges themselves, as aircraft such as the NGX and Blackbox do have reflective glass. I just find it curious how not a single other developer has used reflective metal inside the cockpit. Derek MacPherson At the risk of sounding cliche, I love planes.GTX 770 / i7-4790K / 16GB DDR3
July 20, 201213 yr Commercial Member this reflected metal is something I haven't come across yet I haven't seen any metal on or around the glareshield during my time on the A320 flight deck. Where exactly have you seen this? Andrew Wilson
July 20, 201213 yr Author The surface to the left of the MCU, and for the FO on the right. Additionally I find the shade of grey around the glass gauges to be quite realistic, around the PFD and such. However, it is mainly the reflection I am referring to, not the shade of grey, as the FSL A320 and Blackbox A320 also have those colours. I am not even sure if in real life it is reflective where it is on the Wilco aircraft. I am no pilot (except a flight sim one!).
