Simflyers Atlanta Version 2

Expressing my concerns

I have a version of their first World Airport package. I thought ATL was the weakest of the lot. That is perhaps why they upgraded ATL first. As far as framerates are concerned, how is it when compared to the first version? I have a somewhat similar post on the SimFlyer's support forum. SimFlyer's only retains posts for a few days, so I was a little surprised to see that it was still there a fem moments ago. They have assured us that they are doing their best to still improve version 1, and appear to be telling us the truth as they have just released the update for KATL (Version 1). Hopefully this will continue and the flashing ground texture problem will be remedied at the other locations as well.I fully agree with you concerning the pricing for upgrading to version 2. A bulk purchase of the originals is a few cents less per airport than a upgrade to version 2 of KATL, making an upgrade to version 2 prohibitive to anyone who has many locations. I realize manpower went into the new version but I can't convince myself to invest another over $100.00 for SimFlyer locations I have already purchased just to get updated liveries. Of course, it is impossible to offer a bulk purchase of version 2 as it will be an evolution thing over many future months, so I guess SimFlyer's has put themselves in a postion where they are darned if they do, and darned if they don't in a way. I have not downloaded version 2 yet, so guess I will take a peek and see if they have reinvented the wheel, but I am going to take some convincing. I doubt that one can even tell that from the trial version.Another case of "In the eyes of the beholder" I guess.Happy flying:RTH

Robbie:To answer your question; I have a Pentium 4 2.80GHz oc to 3.36GHz/ 800 bus speed/ 1.00GB of Kingston HyperX PC3700/ ATI 9700 Pro Graphics Card/ 2-120GB Maxtor Serial Drives/ Asus P4P800 Deluxe Mainboard...with all this good hardware I still get slow framerates with most scenery add-ons (Note: running at 1600x1200 resolution with Anti-Aliasing on)Wish they come up with photo-realistic textures....
