Panel Files in the PMDG 737NGX

Featured Replies

Hi all,

For those of you that have the PMDG 737NGX, you probably noticed that there are 5 panel files in the Panel Folder of the PMDG 737-800NGX. Only one of these files is named panel.cfg. There's a file named panel_4_3.cfg, which is for the 4:3 monitors, and another file named panel_wide.cfg, which is for the widescreen or 16:9 monitors. I'm using a widescreen monitor and my panel.cfg indicates that I'm using the panel_wide.cfg file, but with the file name panel.cfg. My question is for those who are using a 4:3 monitor, does the panel.cfg file use the panel_4_3.cfg file automaticlly based on the monitor or does it have to be edited manually? If it selects the file automatically, how does it do that?

It needs to be changed manually for 4:3 (you just copy the 4_3 file and then rename it to panel.cfg after deleting the current one. Somehow a whole section at the top of the readme explaining this was deleted and left out of the installer. The default panel.cfg is the same thing as panel_wide.

Thanks Ryan, I was wondering why that was never explained, but I wanted to be sure.
