YMAY - Albury airport 2012 update

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

FYI I couldn't wait for a full blown photo real conversion for YMAY Albury NSW, so I went ahead, took the plunge and used ADE9X for the very first time to at least update the airport to 2012 layout in the interim.

In the process I added lots of extra generic buildings, internal roads, main terminal car park, heaps of extra a/c parking on new aprons and a high mesh boundary fence as well.

Looks quite ok to me with any of the scenery library variations (either default, with Holgermesh, with FTX Blue etc).

Link to files for d/l is here - http://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery-63-0

I've also got a localised Albury traffic AI to throw into the mix that adds a fair bit more activity (AI t & g's etc). If anyone is interested I'll post it up somewhere too.

Chiz,

PS: I'm still trying to work up the courage to figure out how to make a photorealistic conversion of an airport - but my 61 year-old brain just baulks at the process! Would be great if there was a user friendly GUI (ie for noobs like me) that made it much more simple to learn? Maybe something will click one day... LOL

I've got Yarrawonga in mind if I can figure it out....

Good work Jeff.

Thanks,

gb.

Thanks for the feedback!

As a long time resident of the area, I'm currently working on an Albury/Wodonga locality update that will add the "new" Albury/Wodonga freeway bypass & Wodonga bypass to the FSX experience. Users are recommended to have Orbx/FTX Au Blue scenery pack for this upcoming update, as my update is designed to tie in to their road network (which is vastly better than standard FSX, which is terrible for NE Vic area) but FTXAu Blue still has some significant gaps - like the freeway bypasses and too much urban landclass for Albury/Wodonga, which I am also adjusting as I go..

No eta yet - I'm discovering that it sure takes a whack of time to do this - but hopefully within weeks - not months!

Cheers,

aj

Don't forget to add a bedraggled DC-2 and fog to the airfield  .
