Problem with new Saitek Combat pedals

Just bought the Saitek combat pedals and am impressed so far. However, during my last 2 flight the pedals stopped working sometime during the flight. Didn't realize it until I landed and could not steer or brake. Anybody have any thoughts? I've got all of my controls calibrated through FSUIPC.

I did notice when I exited FSX that the little pedal icon on the task bar had disappeared.
