FSWidgets App Updates & New Charts

Featured Replies

FSWidgets have issued free updates for several of their mobile and desktop mapping applications designed for FSX, FS2004 and X-Plane, adding support for additional Cloud Based Aero Charts products covering Australia, New Zealand, South America, Europe and Canada.

First off, they have updated their flight planning software QuickPlan for iPad/Mac/Android and their EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) for iPad. The iPad app updates are now available via the iTunes updates system, the new version of QuickPlan for Mac and Android are available from the FSWidgets site.

Next, all Windows and Mac editions of the free GMap moving map utility have also had their mapping engines updated. Because this is a server-side change to the back-end it will be automatically reflected the next time GMap is launched or the map refreshed, there is no need to re-download or re-install GMap.

All of the above-mentioned updates add support for five new Cloud Based Aero Chart products:

- New Zealand Aero Charts

- Australia ONC (Operational Navigation Charts)

- South America ONC

- Europe ONC

- Canada ONC
