Flight control test - rudder

Recommended Posts

Was reading an article today about the A380 and about a feature it has where when they test the flight controls before takeoff they have a feature so that when they test the rudder the nose wheel doesn't turn to help prevent it being damaged. Is this the case on the 737-800 also or when they test the rudder does the nose wheel turn?

Kind Regards,

Dan

On 737 pilots have to hold nose wheel steering wheel and don't let it turn while doing rudder check.

Ah okay that's interesting, so there wouldn't really be a way to reproduce it in the simulator?

Unfortunately, no. Because in FSX rudder, yaw damper and nose wheel are connected together and PMDG can nothing do with that.
