Disappearing GPS Gauge

Featured Replies

Got a problem. Don't know why it happened, or, how to fix it. The GPS gauge in all my aircraft has disappeared for both 2D and 3D panels. Also, when I click on the hot spot/button to activate same on the panels where it's hidden, nothing happens. It's just gone. The only two things I've done re: FS 2004 recently have been the installation of the FFS Super King Air and the 4.6 driver for my Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card.Anyone got any ideas as to the cause & remedy for this situation? Thanks,Jim

Hi Jim,Sorry to hear that. :( I'm not really certain how to help. Perhaps you should make sure you have the file 'fs9gps.cab' in your 'Flight Simulator 9Gauges' folder? It's all I can think of for now,Jim

Jim,I am the developer of the GNS430. It is also a Payware gauge and I have sold just over one thousand so far. To date I have not had one issue like this... honestly only 6 support questions so far total. It works by importing the FS9 data so it is not possible for it to cause this problem. you may want to check for other software addons that might be causing this.Regards,Keith

Jim,Well, I ran a search on the FS9 gauges folder for the fs9gps.cab file and - nothing there. I guess that you've identified the "why." That being the case, how do I fix the problem? Thanks for your help.Jim

Keith,Thanks for the reply and for your efforts in developing the GNS430. I suspect that Jim (above) has identified the "why" of the situation, although, I've not a clue as to how the fs9gps.cab file disappeared from the gauges folder.Anyway, thanks for your help.Jim

Jim - It's easy to fix. The fs9gps.cab file is in the Gauges folder of the MSGAME3.CAB file on CD #2. Just extract it, copy it to the gauges folder, and all will be OK again. (I don't have a clue, though, as to why it disappeared in the first place).DougEdited 'cause I can't spel
