August 27, 201213 yr Now I'm back to basics and asking for some specific advice. Here is the hardware. Only win7-64 is installed on the 256GB SSD. I have FSX Gold and a bucket full of Add-ons, Lots of Orbx Scenery to install and the the continental USA in 50cm Sim-Savvy Photoreal scenery by state. I will have my trusty i7 870 close by with everything working more-or-less just a few moans and stutters and crappy AA feet away. Oh yes, the rest of the specs: Chassis - CM HAF 912 HellFire Edition Mid-Tower ATX Motherboard - Fatal1ty Z68 Pro SLI, USB 3.0, SATA3 Processor - Intel Core i7 2700K (4.6GHZ Overclock) Quad Core CPU Cooling - Antec 920 Dual Stage CPU Liquid Cooling System Memory - 8GB (2 X 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM, 1866Mhz Graphic Processor - 1536MB EVGA GeForce GTX 580, GDDR5, PCIe System Power - 850 Watt Corsair TX Series Power Supply Sound Card - Creative X-Fi Titanium, 7.1 HD Audio Primary Hard Drive - 256 GB High Performance Solid State (SSD) Secondary Hard Drive - 1 TB WD Caviar Black 7200 RPM 64MB cache SATA 6.0GB/s 3.5" Internal Drive Additional Fast Storage Drive - 500GB USB 3.0 eGo Portable Hard Drive (fast) Standard USB 2.0 Storage Drive - 750GB (slow) Optial Drive - Blu-ray (BD) Burner DVD/CD Combo Drive Networking - Integrated High Speed Network Ready (10/100/1000) Networking - 802.11n Wireless Desktop Network Card Bose Companion 20 Speakers, MK520 Wireless Keyboard and mouse Primary monitor Dell 27 IN WS HD U2711 monitor Secondary monitor Dell 24 In WS 2407wfp for additional windows/data/moving maps And now the questions: What are your recommendations on what to install where? FSX on the SSD along with the OS? Most used add-ons and scenery on the SSD, balance on HDD? Is it still important to install FSX piecemeal and reboot often during the install. I gotta have Acceleration and SDK? Thanks gang. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
