More problems for ANA's 787 fleet

Recommended Posts

ANA's first operational 787 registration JA801A was forced to return to the gate after pushback at Okayama after a leak was discovered in a hydraulic pump on the port side.

White smoke was seen streaming from the aircraft as it taxied out, and the pilots reported rapid hydraulic pressure loss.

They shut down the engine and taxied back on their remaining engine.

The aircraft is powered by RR Trent 1000 engines, and the engine manufacturer advised the pump is NOT part of the Trent 1000 although it is desgined for its use.

On the 22nd of July, ANA grounded its entire 787 fleet due to concerns with a gearbox defect on the Trent 1000 engines.

Aircraft were returned to service after Hamilton Sundstrand replaced the parts.

You can see a small video of the incident
