September 17, 201213 yr Hi there, As a long time flight simmer mostly over western europe and the traditional British holiday routes towards the Middle East I am wanting to start more flying in other areas, and to start with I was looking at Russia, especially flights from the Moscow Area Airports and when I have tried to use the FSX Flight Planner it has only been able to produce flightplans that are 'direct gps' routes, when i want to use 'vor to vor' or 'airways'. My theory is that I must have out of date Navaid information, however I don't know where to get any updates if that is the problem. If this is not the problem then would someone please tell me what it is, and a solution please!! Regards, James
September 18, 201213 yr I don't think it's related to out of date Navaid data, but only a lack of available Navdata in FSX for this area. especially flights from the Moscow Area Airports Yeah, that's annoying me, too. The funny thing is: I can't create a flight plan from UUDD to LOWW (Moscow Domodedovo to Vienna Schwechat) using airways, but it works perfectly the other way round, same applies for flights to and from UUEE (Sheremetyevo). Haven't tested any other airports in that area, because I only have an addon for Sheremetyevo, and I 've been to Domodedovo twice. My solution for this problem is to simply create a direct (GPS) flight plan, and the customize it by dragging the line to the waypoints I want. I know it's a PITA, especially when you do long flights along airways, but it's the only possibility of creating a flight plan for Russia within FSX. Other than that you could of course use some addon flight planning software( there's free- and payware available). Regards, Flo Florian
