AI Callsigns With My Traffic 5.4

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had My Traffic 5.4 for a while and now just got RC 4.3. I love it except for the fact that airline callsigns are messed up. For example, instead of the controller saying "American 1467", the controller says "Alpha 1467". I have no idea how to fix this and have gone through the manual to boot.

Thanks!

Radio call signs are returned to RC by FSUIPC. Be sure your FSUIPC is current from the link at the forum top. To see what is being returned install this free Traffic Look utility from here:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

Park an aircraft in FS at a busy time at an airport American has scheduled flights. Then start Traffic Look which will open in its own window. You can alt-tab between FS and Traffic Look as needed. Set it for ground or air ai as appropriate. Look for the radio call returned as added to the flight number. That callsign must be in the c4.csv database file to be recognized and the first letter will be pronounced phonetically if not. If you look for the topics regarding the United callsign here you'll see how to modify c4.csv to catch the returned radio call.

For safety in the RC folder make sure you copy rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat which can corrupt on errors and RC will not start requiring a reinstall. In your RC\data folder make a safety copy of f4.cav. You will need to edit that with wordpad or note pad, not any spreadsheet application which will corrupt it.

For example:

AMERICAN,AMERICAN,American Airlines - USA,293, 1

is the line for the indicated airline. Your ai must return american to be pronounced. Of interest is the first american here is the callsign returned and the second the wav file (via a script file) to be used. To correct for non-matching calls from ai simply change the first instance to what My-Traffic is returning as indicated by Traffic Look. Be sure to exactly maintain the format of the line.

A similar issue occurs with Ultimate Traffic 2 for FSX. This long thread explains how to correct these with examples:
