I decided to buy the queen but now I have a question, does the -8 package have an extended range? In real life the new Genx engines extend the range by 800nmi. I have read that it only adds an exterior model and sounds, but doesn't have any systems. So, does it simulate the extended range or not?

Because the PMDG web site states that the flight dynamics/performance characteristics have not been altered, and because PMDG did not specifically advertise a new flight model (doing so would be logical in order to attract more customers), I do not think the additional range is incorporated.

 

I own both but did not install the B747-8 during the latest reinstall, as I do not like its visual model. Plus, I have the McPhat Studios repaints for the B747-400, which are much better than the defaults for both, so I recommend them. However, I am excited about the second version of the B747-8, which should be much more worth it.
