July 3, 200421 yr 1) Is it possible to force MSFS to keep the aircraft paint loaded into texture memory? I'm really tired of seeing the grey behemoth(sp?) everytime I switch to s spot view. I have TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400.2) Is it possible to turn the sound in spot view down without effecting other sounds? I fly on VATSIM and I've had to ask for more than a few controllers to repeat messages because I couldn't hear over the engines while in spot view.3) Save your aircraft type and location so that everytime you load the FS it picks you up in a cold and dark cockpit of your last used aircraft at the same airport/gate/etc?
July 3, 200421 yr I can only help you with point #3. Set up the aircraft at the gate you wish (and airport of course), turn off everything so cockpit is cold & dark, the go to MENU, SAVE FLIGHT, and then give it a title in the "save flight" box. When resatarting your flight, at the "Select a flight" screen, lower menu should have your flight listed. Choose it and you'll be back at your cold & dark aircraft and at your airport gate. Also you can select the "Make this your default flight" box for setting this flight when FS9 begins. However, you will need to update time, season and weather every time when using this method since the saved flight menu remembers the original saved time of day and season and weather. Hope this helps.

I suspect it's a result of having advanced the sliders 'bout as far as they will go. Something has to give somewhere.:-eek :-hang
July 3, 200421 yr Ya, I was just hoping there might be a way to force the engine to prioritize textures and always keep paints or even cockpit textures in the on-card memory as opposed to swapping them out for terrain/scenery object textures. I can handle having buildings look like boxes easier than I can the stuttuer that happens every time I look around the cockpit or the great white whale if I go to spot view.
