We have introduced a new feature which we think will be a powerful addition to the tools available to you. Here is the detail:

In various locations of this community, you may see a button like Quote into PM or Quote into new PM that appears for some content.

About 'Quote into new PM'

This button is similar to clicking the "Quote" button except that instead of replying in the same place, a new Personal Conversation (private message) is created with the contents pre-quoted.

Recipient's Name

The author of the post or other content that you are quoting will usually be automatically filled in for you. If you want to send it to someone else, you will need to enter their name.

Message Subject

The title of the new conversation is created based on the name of the source you are quoting. You may edit the title to something more appropriate if you want.

Quoted content

The content being quoted will include the name of the author as well as the date and time it was originally made. At the bottom of the quote, if the administrator has it enabled, will be a reference and a link back to the original location of what is being quoted. If it's included, it's a good idea to leave it intact so it's easier to find and view the original post or comment.

Other information

• If you do not see the "Quote into PM" button anywhere, you may not be signed in or the administrator may have restricted access to this feature.

• It's usually not a good idea to change the recipient to someone who cannot view the message you are quoting as it may violate the terms of service or the site's policy. If you are unsure if it is acceptable, you should contact a site moderator or administrator for assistance.

• It is recommended that you shorten the quote down to include only what is necessary, so that your response will be better understood.
