FX Edit Help Please

When I open the FX Edit tool to view the effects all I get is a window with all the parameters. I was watching a video by someone that was great but I lost the site when I got a call on Skype. As I remember in the video the tool is supposed to have two side by side panes (one with the text and one with the viewer). I have read the SDK and it's no help. Does anyone know where the video might be? I have used Google search and all I find is editing FS videos. I'd like to be able to view the effects in FSX. I have WIN7 64 bit and Acceleration. Thanks, Bob.
