"Blinking" 2D Panel

Featured Replies

Since some time I observe a quite annoying effect with any 2D Panel.

The panel "blinks" or flashes briefly when FSMetar updates the weather.

This is quite annoying, and does not happen when using the VC.

Does anybody know what I am talking about and how to stop that?

Try a different version of FSMetar. I went back to vers 1.5.4 as 1.5.5 caused the sim to slow down during each update. The difference between the two versions is so small that rolling back was of no disadvantage at all!

Tried that already. Doesn't help.

Thanks for your reply.

Problem solved!

A nice Gentleman from the Flightsim Forum named Jim Robinson advised me to "Uncheck "Render to Texture" in Display > Hardware and the panel flickering should go away."

At first this didn't work because cloud textures have to be 32 bit which in my case they were not.

After fixing the textures everything is fine.

2D Panel flickering gone.

Hope someone else with the same problem will benefit from this.
