July 10, 200421 yr Author Most of the lads at DC-3 Airways have been using this system for some time now - advanced, these Dakota fliers! They even have their own Jeppesen kneeboard skin, as the default FS9 Star Wars one is so ugly. We fly such long hauls at DCA (it takes time to get anywhere when you're flying low and slow) that I think most of the DCA forum posts are made from the cockpit!Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP FleetDC-3 Airwayshttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 10, 200421 yr Forum posts (direct from the cockpit) are good for casual chatting, however the simradar chat is real time, it depends on what you really want. I do not enjoy chatting while on final approach, kinds of makes me freak out.I don't find a chat in the cockpit tool as something that will hold my breath, however the other utilities part of the package (yes, the chat is just ONE of them) are much better, particularly the mini-browser to browse while you fly and the weather tool to get METAR's. I'm looking forward for the Flight Planner and Flight dispatcher.I'm using this account so I don't have to register:Username: promoPassword: promo
July 11, 200421 yr Author <<<<<>>>>>Maybe we're on different wavelengths here. All our 'chat' is done on the radio anyway using Teamspeak or Roger Wilco. However, the fact that the FS9 kneeboard is browser based is well documented and several VAs have produced good kneeboard packages for their own pilots.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP FleetDC-3 Airwayshttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
