July 12, 200421 yr I know that there is a utility that can change the altitude of an AFCAD file. I'm using the updated version of KCVG from the library and all of my AI is sunken by~1Meter. Looks a little odd, but the update is great- the new Jetway macros alone are worth it.TIA,Tim
July 13, 200421 yr Tim,Do all your AI aircraft do this? Do the same planes do this at all airports? I figure you've ruled this out, but it's just a thought to save any undue frustration fiddling with scenery if it's the aircraft themselves.Just hazarding a guess here, too. Backup AF2_KCVG.bgl outside of FS where it won't be read as a part of the scenery library and open your working copy. As I understand it, since FS only allows for flat airports you can simply double-click on the airport grounds where no objects are present. That will bring up Airport Properties where you can set the field's Elevation (ft ASL) in increasing foot increments until (on subsequent reboots of FS) you're satisfied with the results.DISCLAIMER: I haven't tried this myself, but it makes sense that this should work since I haven't found anywhere to tweak an airport's elevation in AFCAD outside of the Airport Properties box. Make sure you backup the AFCAD .bgl file, though!Hope this helps,Kevin
July 14, 200421 yr Author I don't believe there is any documented way to change the airport facility (i.e. AFCAD) altitude from the default. But my understanding is that through testing it has been determined that you can raise the altitude using the airport properties, but not lower it. But there appears to be a work around if you need a lower altitude. One is to edit the default information in the AP9????0.bgl file. Another is toplace a second copy of the modified AFCAD file in a lower priority (smaller number) scenery folder than the default AP file, such as sceneryworldscenery. This way, the altitude in the modified AFCAD is applied first.I assume the runway altitude in the AFCAD must be the same as the airport altitude.scott s..
