Red "X" miseries!

Featured Replies

In the past there have been any number of times when pictures or documents were selected, but not displayed. A blank display with a red "X" was the only result. I have never seen a totally clear answer to the cause, and in particular solution to this issue although a Google search does bring a multitude of comments.

I just had a new similar experience. I originated a Newegg RMA and brought the applicable documents up on my monitor. One document was the two part RMA, top portion to be put in the box, bottom part to be displayed on the outside of the box. The second document was the Newegg specified UPS shipping label (for which I had already been charged). The displays for both of these documents were clear, complete, and as they should have been displayed on my monitor. However, when I tried to print them out I got the old Red "X" blank printout similar to some of the displays previously mentioned. Same result on two different printers. I then switched to my laptop operating with Win XP Pro 32 bit and was able to print out my documents with no problem.

I presently am useing the Win7 64bit Operating System with a Konica Minolta Laser Printer and a HP Officejet 4315V All in One Ink Jet printers. However, I have seen the Red "X" issue for ever going back to a number of previous MS operating systems relative only to the display of pictures or documents..

My best guess is that there is something in this particular printout scenario that doesn't like the 64 bit system as she works ok with the 32 bit system. Of course this does not explain the display issue in either and all the MS windows systems I have had in the past.

Any ideas?
