Actually I think I have a windows issue as I have other software that is acting strange. I have stuff that won't retain settings from boot to boot.

Im just thinking out loud, but by any chance your ailenware got Intel rapid storage technology ( RAID )

 

I wonder since I got high spec Dell XPS8500 and yours is ailenware and were the only people to have this problem, could this be the only common denominator.

It does have raid but I have it disabled

Got everything re formatted and re installed. What ever was fubar in windows now is cured lol. I am re installing all my scenery now but I have tested fsx at first install, sp1 then again after sp2 and gauges all worked.
