Overclocking and System Tuning

I just compared my case to the 650D. It's 4cm wider and about 10cm taller and depth. I've found myself a new cheaper case :).

What cooler are you using? I have used the H100 in the past with great effect and its cheap too. I managed to run my old 2500K at 5.2GHz and at 1.44v and keep well below 75 degrees in a HAF912plus.

I've just checked HAF912 Plus. Looks like a really good price compared to the corsair ones. I'm definitely getting the H100 so just need a good case to go with it.

I cannot fault the HAF912Plus in any way, great case and a great price.

but temperatures reached 100

Do not tempt it. 100 is the absolute highest limit, basically the temperature where CPU fails. And when it fails, then it has failed. Forever. Keep it below 85.

Can anyone tell me if the H100 will fit in the HAF 912 Plus? If it will, I'm buying it right now and will build it tomorrow ready for some more overclocking .

Or a case that is around £100 ish... I'm thinking of getting the HAF X now...

Michael Pearce

The H100 will fit in the HAF912 yes, it has a nice mesh cutout at the top for it ;)

Would the HAF 932 be a better choice? Seems like it has more room for the rad.

Michael Pearce

If budget allows and you have space, a larger case is normally always better to have.

I just bought the HAF 932 Advanced. Looks like a sexy case and comes with a few fans which will save money  .

Will buy the H100 in a fortnight...

Michael Pearce

Excellent! You will have a nice system when all together. I will be building a system very similar at some stage soon.

Might need to make some mods to my desk though as the HAF 932 is 10cm+ higher than my current case that sits very close to the keyboard drawer. Might move the drawer up or take it out completely since it's in bits lol... These drawers never last...

I'll post up some pics while installing it all.

EDIT - Fixed grammar...

OK so I have my new case and cooler, swapped everything over and am running on it now. Only got one picture of the two boxes haha but was rushing as I was due to start work so never managed to get other photo's.

I'm currently running @ 4.4Ghz with the Corsair H100 with 20-30c on minimal load 0-10%.

On 100% load, I get 50-60c @ 4.4Ghz.
