I lost glideslope indications at many airports - help needed

Featured Replies

Folks,While flying an approach to EGSS (London Stansted) RWY 25 I noticed that my ILS readout is lacking glideslope indications. This is only happening at several airports, namely EGSS runway 25, EGKK Rwy 26L, EDHL RWY 25 and some others. The glideslope is missing at one side of the approach only. I have checked my approach charts and it is ILS/GS/DME approach, not just the Localiser approach.Since this area I have covered with freeware scenery I tried to remove the add-on scenery and check it with default scenery - same thing - no glideslope. Please help me with your hints folks,ThanksDom

It might be worth contacting the authors of the sceneries for advice. Meanwhile, if the problem exists with the scenery disabled, the AfCad files must still be being read by FS. You might need to locate and move them somewhere else at least temporarily, then test again. I am guessing you have FS9 since I have been told that FS9 doesn't like AfCad files with the same ILS frequency at both ends of the runway. I have EGSS scenery version 5 by John Young and had the same problem with, and only with, FS9. The ILS frequency should be 110.50 at both ends of the runway and this is the problem. I don't know about the other airports. I think John's scenery was written for an earlier FS version. I have managed to fix the AfCad myself after contacting John for advice. If you run FS9 and have the same EGSS scenery version 5 by John Young and you would like a copy of my EGSS AfCad, email me [email protected] From that file you might be able to fix the others using the latest version of AfCad by Lee Swordy.
