July 19, 200421 yr Just noticed that this package was available for the CRJ's. Anybody have it, and is so what is your evaluation? The screenshots look pretty good and there is a fine complement of liveries. By today's standards the price seems reasonable.Did this package just come out or have I just overlooked it?Thanks:RTH
July 19, 200421 yr Well, I like the package, heck, I have even painted some up :-lol.Seriously though, there are a few things that I don't like, and a lot that I do.I love the FDE, I like the panels, the model and the sounds, unfortunalty the FMC is not "fully" operational, but I can nearly forget about that problem, my major problem is with Wilco, there support is appaling.Feelthere, the guys who actually made it, are a great bunch of guys, and they will help out for any problems, but anything Wilco get involved in turns into a nightmare, the service releases were a total debacle, one of the SR's deleted ALL my liveries and my manuals for the CRJ :(Check out the feelthere forum > http://www.iemit.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=4There are many, many posts on there that should help you to make up your mindCheersDan.
July 19, 200421 yr Thanks Dan:That is exactly the type of information I was hunting. I suspect my reaction would be just about like yours, although you may have more patience than I.Thanks again.RTH
July 19, 200421 yr I bought it, then was waiting on the service release that would use less textures so it would be more fps friendly, then, quite frankly, forgot all about it. It's still there somewhere but haven't flown it in a long time. billg
July 19, 200421 yr The basic FMC implementation doesn't bother at all. I'm the sort of person who likes to fly aircraft in flight sim rather than having the autopilot do everything from 400 AGL to landing :-)I have both the CRJ-200 and the CRJ-700/-900 packages, and I think the handling on the ground and in the air is excellent. They're a pleasure to fly by hand, and there's nothing omitted in the FMC implementation that I miss all that much. (I'd be hard pressed to tell you what *is* missing. VNAV is the most notable omission, but that makes sense to me since most CRJ's don't have autothrottles.)I also think that Wilco is the worst part of the deal. However, the people of FeelThere are so helpful and good-spirited in their user formus that I can overlook any problems caused by Wilco.Sincerely,Rob Prattrpratt(at-sign)wordandsound.com
July 19, 200421 yr Well, I'd have to say I was disappointed. Ok, no full function fmc, no autothrottle I read that part, but you have to load a Flightsim flight plan or even the very basic functions don't work. May as well use the flightsim gps. I have turboprop panels with more function than the CRJ panel has. In fact. I have Freeware panels that have more function than the CRJ panel does. I've flown it just enough to become familiar with what it will and won't do and now collects dust in my hangar. But it LOOKS good doing it.Willhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
July 19, 200421 yr Hi Will!FYI!!!!!!!!The CRJ's (even some of the new generations), have no autothrottle!!!!! So, in this respect, FeelThere is being realistic. My understanding is that Bombardier is working on a new generation CRJ series that will have A/T implemented in the near future or will be offerend as some sort of an option for already existing aircraft.I know that the CRJ-200's don't have it for sure. The initial generation of the 700 and 900's did not have it either. Not trying to stir things up here, but wanting to give proper credit to FeelThere for making that piece realistic. July 20, 200421 yr Duh! :-hmmm Dennis. let me quote myself. "Ok no autothrottle and no full function fmc I read that." Maybe you missed the last part of my post where I said that I have freeware panels that have MORE functionality than the CRJ does. And that I was disapointed. Had it been freeware I would not have been "disappointed" because it was no money out of my pocket. Would I buy it again knowing what I know now? NO!! So there is NO NEED TO SHOUT THE OBVIOUS.Willhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
