C90B Rxp GNS 430 & Rxp Wx500 retrofit

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

on my now mid-range PC the Avidyne Unit is the most power hungry and FPS killing gauge in the C90B and also is in the B200. If I

completely powered it off in the vc and 2D gauge then I have a very fluid and pleasing experience, back at "full FPS" in my case, so I

decided to cut it out and replace it with the RXP Wx500 device, which gives still a realistic look and feel to the panel .... and besides

of the Avidyne own Wx-radar , it shows allways the weather in my case.

Carenado, I really like your Avidyne Unit, but for me it is a fun killer to see frames be cut by 10 FPS when using it!

This is just an idea how to get some of the performance back if you can live without that unit.

Here are some screenshots (note: when taking these screenshots I had nearly clear sky, so no weather to display on the radar ^_^ ) :

Known Issue:

==========

I had to use the noframe=on option for the WX500 gauge to have it nicely fitting into the vc and without greying out. That means the 2D popup has also no frame

where you could see the knobs and buttons. BUT when hovering the mouse over the black 2D gauge frame green sections will illuminate to help

you to find the right knobs to turn on and buttons to change range etc.... !

If anybody has a better solution for this Workarround please throw in a comment!!!

Below are the needed config entries, please allways BACKUP original files!

In order to use these exact enries you must own the RelityXP GNS 430 and Wx500!

I am sorry, as I posted in a hurry yesterday and as I copy/pasted the identical not differing lines from my original post in the B200 forum there are some typos above:

It must be the following instruction:

-> RXPGNS.INI (create with notepad and copy into it, place into the Carenado C90B/panel folder)

-> RXPWX500.INI (create with notepad and copy into it, place into the main Carenado C90B folder)

I am sorry for any inconvenience!

Hi,

I don´t think it will be possible as the frames and knobs for the gauges of the Collins avionics are hardcoded into the model of the VC. That means you maybe could (?) exchange the inner gauge with the Aspen, but the frame of the Collins will still show up arround of it, which will withdraw a real appearence. If it would be working in this case it would look surely cool!
