July 21, 200421 yr I'm wondering if it's possible to keep stationary gauges in place (as in the no-panel with gauges view) while panning the standard (or Virtual!) cockpit view around, and if anyone's done it.Thanks,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
July 21, 200421 yr Can certainly be done for VC, although not for 2D views, no.You need to create a window within your PANEL.CFG with the same gauge layout as the MINI-PANEL (what you call the no-panel with gauges view) but give it no background. Then you can call it up using keys when in VC. It will stay in place while you rotate the VC view.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 21, 200421 yr Author Thanks mark!Um.. ok, seems simple enough. How do I do it?!? ;)And is the - yes, the "mini-panel" customizable?Sorry - I know these are probably basic questions, but I searched... too many hits on "transparent" and so forth.Thanks,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
July 22, 200421 yr ;)>>>>Oh, heck, you want more?<<<>Absolutomondo, Andrew. Like any other panel window. If a panel author does not specifically configure a MINI_PANEL window entry in his PANEL.CFG, then the sim will default to the appropriate default MINI_PANEL for that type of aircraft when you hit the "W" key; but all can be configured to your liking. There is a specific forum for all this within Avsim, so I'm not going to start rambling on here because it could take forever; but if you were to send me a specific PANEL.CFG that you wanted modified, with exact instructions as to what you wanted to achieve, then I suppose in all honesty I could set it up for you more quickly than you could do yourself! No promises, as I'm not about to start re-inventing the ark, but if you want to test me my email is [email protected]. Your call.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 22, 200421 yr Andrew There's a line you can add to FS9.cfg that allows you to pan the outside view from the 2d panel; look in the "Tips and Tricks" thread. I don't know if this is what but the entire panel stays in place while you pan.David
