Are my tempratures ok?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

So I got new CPU cooler Corsair H80 after my default intel i7 fan failed but the tempratures are still high though not high as before..

Here are my temps ... Is this normal? my room temperature is 23*C and FSX is currently running here.

And on this note the fan seems to be properly attached and its brand new.

Thanks for reading

If it's running on stock clock then your maximum temperatures do not look ok to me. Try re-seating your cooler. H80 comes with TIM pre-applied??

The temps on your screenshot are the temps in idle state or full load(i m referring to the temps which are being shown as current temps in your screenshot)? From what I can see your processor is under only a mild load. If that is the case then there is something wrong there for sure. One more thing the temperature difference between core 0 and core 3 is bit more than normal unless some application is hogging your core 0 while core 2 and core 3 are in idle states. Try running a prime95 stress test. Keep an eye on temperatures. Take a screenshot while the test is running and then check the difference between the temperatures of different cores. stop the test as soon as the temperatures start reaching 80 degrees. 5-7 degrees of difference is ok under load. Anything above 10 degrees difference when all the cores are under 100% load is not normal as far as i know.

Hi Rohit,

Here is the picture after prime95 test

Ok so now the temperature difference is normal but your core temps for stock clock are still very high. I have a Noctua U12P SE2 air cooler on my i5 2500K and even with 4.4 Ghz of overclock temps never go beyond 60 degrees. I am talking about the times when ambient temperature here reaches as high as 30 degrees. Try re-seating your cooler once and see if that makes any difference. Is the hyper threading on? If it is, try turning it off although I doubt it will make any significant difference at stock clock. If none of these help then the last resort would be to reapply TIM.

I hope you have set everything in BIOS to default. What is your vcore under load and what are the idle temps?

Rohit

My bios is set to Load safe default(GigaByte UD2H)

My Idle tempratures are b/w 35-40*C

Hyper Threading is not making big difference as you said.. Seems my Cooler isn't attached properly I contacted them and they said that it takes time for new Liquid to melt and as time go by temps will go down more. as its Liquid cooler Ch80
