No Accessory Display 2d NV Surround ?

Featured Replies

Hi I am running a 2D nvidia surround set up and i cannot get the accessory display to do anything even go on.. ?

here is how its hooked up...

GFX670 connected to 3 Asus VE278 monitors they are connected as such:

DVI to DVI

DVI to DVI

HDMI to HDMI

Asus monitors have all 4 hook up avaiable VGA / DVI / HDMI / DP

Then there is the 4th monitor that just doesnt want to go on at all this one is conected:

DisplayPort to DVI (special cable DP to DVI)

The 4th monitor is different its viewsonic VX2235WM this monitor has only VGA and DVI Hookups and it does have different Natice Res of 1680x1020 (if i recall correctly) as oppose to Asus' which are 1920x1080 each

SO.. why the darn 4th monitor does not want to go on

If i go to ChangeResolution its there avaiable

If I use NVidia control panel it is listed and there avaiable

The monitor is listed in all the possible places where there is some setting to do with monitors but the darn thing shows NOTHING !

Like it is not getting any signal from Video Card....

when i go try to set up the surrond it just tells me that this monitor will not be used which is fine cuz i do not want it used for surround but i would like to have it as the so called AccessoryDisplay yet it does nothing... is there some settings that i should clikc somewhere somthing to make it work... If anyone had this problem and got anywhere positive please share it..

Thanks for any help

Andy

PS: the actual surround seems to be working well on the 3 ASUS monitors its just the issue of getting the 4th one to work...

for windows display i use 5760x1080 when i play the FS i use 6000x1080 and the 3 work fine... only issue i have is the side monitors view is a bit streatched out but that is another thing and maybe its normal I do noit think it has anything to do with this..

Wierd... ????

So i got it working i besically with computer ON startet changing cables.. ended up hooking the 4th accessory display DVI-DVI and the DisplayPort-DVI found a pleace on the ASUS one of the surround moinitors.. all was a mess but they all worked... changed it to what i wanted then restarted computer....

and everything was messud up again but the 4th monitor worked... not exactly how i need it but it worked... but that's ok cuz you should expect mess when you change cables with computer on

so the thing Nvidia and Windows Monitor Configuration got me tru the whole process again and then the surround set up and it worked... not only that but beyond.... i was under impression that the 4th monitor in FULLSCREAN FSX and 2D Surround would not do much good other then display of gauges... but it not only displays gagues I can clikc on them too..(RADIOS) and they work and nothing wrong happenes... idk I am confuesd

So besically you end up with 4 SCREEN FULL SCREEN but the 4th screen is for extra windows you may choose to open...

In case someone is wondering hit on frame rate is quite big but i will use the surround for the outside view only.. no VC as I have almost done my own cockpit thingymabober so the fps are ok with 4 monitors on the 670 and no VC...

example to compare usinf CYYZ addonscenery buy blueprintsimulations and 737NGX taxing around not a sophisticated test

with VirtualCockpit 4 monitors 9-10 fps 4th monitor displays radio and undocked HSI

no VC 4 monitors 18-20 gauges only on 4th monitor the surround monitors display 2d cockpit view... but maximized so actually only outside view... no 2d cockpit is visable anyways... but i do not need it

3 monitors only surround with VC 25+ FPS

I am still interested in hearing somone who can maybe have some definition for the whole set up i got it working by trial and error but if you ask me to help you I wouldnt know what to say....other then just plug cables all over see what happens.. doesnt sound like a pro advise
