November 24, 201213 yr Hi guys, First of all, I apologize for my bad English... I just installed fsx on my new notebook hp pavillon g6. In this computer I have 2 video card: -Intel HD Graphics 4000 (bad) -Radeon HD 7670M (good) but in the device-specific option ( in the drop-down menu) I can only select the Intel's card... why? can i fix it? (maybe something in the .cfg files) Thanks
November 24, 201213 yr According to this link - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03048374&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5165733 you cannot disable one or the other in the BIOS or any drop-down menu. Here's what it says: Using Dynamic Mode switchable graphics By default, a notebook with Dynamic Mode switchable graphics uses the integrated, or low-power, graphics chipset for most applications. The notebook will automatically switch to the high-performance chipset when the application requires more performance. Customers can configure which applications require the high-performance chipset by selecting the application in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. When an application is configured to use the high-performance chipset, the notebook will switch graphics solutions when the application is started or closed. Change the switchable graphics settings in Dynamic Mode You can change the default switchable graphics settings with the ATI Catalyst Control Center software installed on your HP notebook PC. (If you do not have this software, or if you previously uninstalled it, see HP Notebook PCs - Locate and Install Updated BIOS, Drivers, and Software to learn how get the latest version.) If you want to maximize the notebook's energy efficiency or if you typically use programs that have lower graphical requirements (such as word processing or spreadsheet programs), you do not need to make any changes to the settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. The notebook will use the power-saving chipset by default for all applications. You can still run high performance programs, videos, and games in this mode but you may notice lower frame rates, dropped frames, and choppy animations and transitions. If you use applications that have higher graphical requirements (such as 3D video games), then you can try using the high-performance chipset for those applications. This allows graphics intensive software, videos, and games to run at their optimum settings. So it is done through the ATI Catalyst Control Center. Hope this helps. Since this is video card related, I'm moving this to that forum. Best regards, Jim This is an automatic message. This topic has been moved from "MS FSX Forum" to "Monitors, Video Cards and Drivers". November 24, 201213 yr Author I had already done this procedure before, but it does not work. I still find only the Intel's GPU. I set the file fsx.exe high-performance (in the ATI Catalyst Control Center), maybe it's the wrong file?
