I have p3d on a sad and it seems to have a bad lag

It is set as drive G:

Can do the following?

 

1 I will copy all the contents of my drive g: ssd to a velociraptor drive that i have ( it is new )

2 I will then remove the existing drive g ssd and replace it with the velociraptor that I will initialize as my new drive g:

 

Will my computer recognize the new drive as my drive g: and continue as normal. Will the registry just continue on as if nothing changed

 

I hope this makes sense.
