July 27, 200421 yr :)My guess is that I'd still monitor enroute navaids... but I don't know how it's really handled in case of a loss of the GPS.Is it that simple? I searched for articles regarding this issue but didn't find anything good.Thanks,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
July 27, 200421 yr Andrew,From my simming experience and forum lurking, you've got it. Use them to cross check your position throughout your route so that any errors you may have made in entering the flightplan into the GPS can be hopefully be discovered soon enough to save fuel, if not your neck. It takes lots of practice to fly this way proficiently, though, as you've added yet another instrument array into your already busy scan of outside traffic and/or TCAS, engine gauges, PFD or primary cluster, weather radar (if applicable), enroute ATIS updates, and the GPS.I'm not a real world pilot, but I though I'd throw in my two cents.Happy flying,Kevin
