Minimal runway length required by various aircrafts

Featured Replies

Hi !I already have this info (minimal runway length required for landing ) for the defaults aircrafts of FS 2004 but I can't find any of this info for aircrafts such as the Airbus for example.Of course I did some research on the Internet but came up with nothing about that particular information. Thanks for any help,Marc Renaud

Uhhh, there's several thousand aircraft types out there, so that's a pretty tall order for anyone to list that here. Do you have some particular ones in mind?Glenn

You should really be asking about the minimal length for takeoff since I presume when you landed you want to be able to take off at some later time. ;)The takeoff length is almost always greater than the one for landing. The general problem with this question is that even for a given aircraft type this length will vary greatly depending on aircraft weight, altitude and temperature.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

You're right !My goal is to build a table similar to the one in the picture attached to this reply but for popular aircrafts such as :- Airbus family : A300, A310, A320, A340, A380.- Boeing family : 707, 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777.- Bombardier : De Havilland Dash family, Lear Jet family, CRJ family.- Embraer family : etc...It is for use in flightplans writing and in scenery design ( adding parking spots ).The joined table was build with data provided in the Traffic Toolbox SDK.Thanks for any help while I pursue my research of this precious info.Marc Renaud

Hi !Please read my response to message #2 ( by Michael )!Thanks.

There is a web site; www.myairplane.com on the web site you can access performace data on many aircraft. As the first repsonce to your post mentioned there are many aircraft out there, however, unlike his responce there are a lot of planes listed on the web site. You will see on the left side of the main page where you will see how to get to the page were you will see drop down bars for the mfg, then click (go or what ever) then you will repeat for the modle of that mfg. Agian there are planes not included. However many of the popular models, (alot of the ones we fly in FS9 are listed. Also, this is a great site to view approach plates. You will also find the link to that on the left side of the main page. You will need Adobe to view, and for myself I had to download v.6 of Adobe in ored to dave onto my CPU. I use my lap top to view charts (when I am using my main system for FS9(, thus why I save to my Lap top CPU. Of course you can always print out places you fly alot and creat a binder. I use to purchase the charts from Sporty's Pilot Shop, (I still do from time to time but usually just get my sectionals, low and high alt charts). Now you can view the sectional and other large (ie...multi-fold maps, the ones I never get folded back the correct way, LOL)on the web site as well, put for me I like the large maps in hand. Plus if only sim with one monitor and no lap top you really got to switch back and forth rather quickly. I am sure some can do it with ease, but not me.I hope this helps, please, post back if other questions, and if needed we can communicate further.Mark.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ! :-jumpy Exactly what I was looking for !Thanks so very much !I was just about to post a new "pack" but I will now delay it a bit to include the new infos !Thanks again ! I'm pretty sure you will appreciate what I will post !Have a nice day !Marc Renaud:-wave

Minimum landing distance for all aircraft is 0, but you're unlikely to survive the impact for most of them.

My pleasure, no problem.I hope you find the info there, and also make sure (as it sounds like you will) to gain permission prior to any type of reproduction. Not that you wanted to do that, but, just a heads up from things I have noticed. I am sorry that some of the others gave you a bit of a hard time. This is a great place for disscussing issues, and others with alot of experince will offer many ideas that make "our hobby" more fun. Please advise if there is anything I can attempt to help with. I am learning myself everyday.Take care.Mark.
