Views buggy!

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I strongly believe I will be able to set up my FSX to the best so that everything runs smoothly! As of now, the path ahead of me seems rather bleak and long..

I have been playing around and trying to get used to changing views and looking around. And I've got a few questions.

1. When I press and hold SPACE, I can look around with my cursor. But almost about a second as soon as I stop moving my cursor, while still holding down the space button, the view changes back to the default. Default being where it was before I moved the camera. Is it supposed to do this? Or is it supposed to stay where I stopped moving?

2. I'm trying to set up EZDOK and I'm having trouble understanding some things. I can't seem to edit the views properly. And the transition between a view and the next is not the smooth "head-like-movement" even when the transitions button is enabled.

3. I can't seem to set the camera right. So I loaded a camera setting from someone if I recall correctly named Word Not Allowed thinking I just don't know how to set up the cameras. After loading the settings in EZDOK I realised I still can't transition between views in VC with the PTP smooth head-like-movement/close-ups. Heck I can't even get to the right view! Like if the current view says overhead panel. The camera would be still in the captain's default VC view.

I don't understand. What am I doing wrong here?

Find some helpful EZCA setup videos here. http://www.simforums...topic38637.html

Your No.1 issue is most likely caused by EZCA. It resets the view to the preset. You can enable the mouselook (ML) if you want to pan around with the mouse. Or you use other pan commands.

The main point is that EZCA has to pan, not a default FSX command. It sort of grabs all those view commands and you should set them up there if you want the EZCA effects and transitions.

For quick looks or situations where you don't want EZCA to do anything, there's a quick disable shortcut. I've got that one on some spare mouse button of mine. This keeps the view steady. Helps with FMC entries or other precise adjustments.

If this disable is active, the FSX commands work and will keep the view. When you enable EZCA again, it takes over control, means reset to the EZCA preset or the last position.

See it as a middle man between you and the sim.

Enabled ML, can't move with the "press and hold down mouse scroll button".

Can't press and hold space to zoom in and out or change angle of look.

What am I doing wrong?

Clicking EZDok Universal world camera sets me plane flying into the skies all of a sudden. I don't know what is wrong. Please help?

Forget about that world camera when it comes to your problem. I think you can assign a button to that mouselook (ML) feature. I don't know for sure since I'm using TrackIR.

To change the views itself, e.g. on the zoom and orientation, you have to enter that edit mode of EZCA. That should be a key command, leading to a bing, bing sound. If that sound is active, you can move and zoom (mousewheel) and save the setting with leaving that mode. Note that this will then be the saved preset position. For just looking around, I'd use the ML feature.

For panning around, there are keys set in EZCA or you can assign a joystick or yoke coolie-hat.

Did you watch the setup videos? They should help a bit.

I've watched the videos and have followed closely.

My PTP doesn't seem to be working at all. Its supposed to be smooth transition from one view to another but it just snaps to the view. And the view it snaps to isn't even where it its supposed to snap to.

What software can I use to record what I'm seeing. I feel you have to see to really understand what is going on over here... T_T

I've read a part of the manual that says,"This mode can also be temporarily enabled by pressing and holding middle mouse button." for ML. Thing is, both selecting and not selecting ML doesn't let me edit my view while in edit mode. There is nothing wrong with my mouse, the scroll wheel button is working. What is not working right?

This is my settings as of now.

Control surfaces in FSX controls have also been made sure that none of the numpad buttons are used. (does not include numpad buttons that are used in conjunction with other buttons "e.g: CTRL + Num1")

Why is my mouse look not working properly?

Why is my PTP not transitioning properly?
