Install SDK on FSX with many addons

Featured Replies

Have Fsx with many add-ons, would like to install SDK so that I can alter Afcads with ADE.

Have ADE on FS9 and want the same on FSX.

Have FSX Gold with SP2 installed on a second HD (E), I think I have all the pre-requirements as these were needed for the FSX installation.

As mentioned I have a lot of different sorts of add-ons.

Can I install the SDK without getting problems.

Also do I need to install in the default folder or on the "E" HD.

Although I have read the info on FSDeveloper info I am still not 100% sure that I understand it completely.

I am far from an expert concerning the computer.

Any advice will be very welcome.

EDIT

Have the DELUXE FSX, had written GOLD

I don't *think* you will run into any problems. Can't recall any issues. You will have a three step process installing the SDK to match your FSX-SP2 install; install the SDK that is on disk #1 of the Deluxe DVDs, then SP-1 and finally SP-2 for the SDKs.

Thanks for your quick reply, before I try I have some more information.

Windows7 Home 64 bits.

In the Add-on/ Remove programme I have found a couple of items.

Microsoft . NET Framework 4 Client Profile. Do I still need to install .NET 2.

MSXML 4.0 SP2 Parser & SDK which was earlier installed than 2 other MSXML 4.0 SP2's ( I think these were installed with Windows Update)

What is the meaning of Parser & SDK. and what does MSXML exactly do.

Once again thanks for your advice.
