Mayday, Mayday....Out of disc space?

Featured Replies

i sure hope someone can help me with this .... after about 30-40 minutes operating COF, my computer crashes and says that i am out of usable disc space and to use my disc cleanup. my discs are fine (i clean the discs often, i have 2 x 150gb drives (which are virtually empty and kept defragged nicely) with 1gb of ram. non of my other programs cause this to happen. it seems like a massive memory leak? my system specs are p4 3ghz, geforce fx 5900 ultra (61,77 driver) 2 x 150 gb hard drives and 1gb ram. if you have any thoughts, i would be very grateful. regards.

G'day,Can't help re the running out of disk space but this happens to me also using Fly!II BUT I AM running out of disk space (not any kind of leak). I have 2 hard drives ( C:20Gb and D:40Gb ). The sim is on D: and has plenty of free space. The operating system is on C: and this drive is pretty well chock full with only a couple of hundred Mb free. Even though I'm running the sim on the D: drive it is the C: drive that is running out of space. Fly!II doesn't actually crash but simply minimises while theoperating system (win98SE) throws up the disk cleanup program. Once I run the cleanup program I simply click on the minimised Fly!II and I"m back up and running where I was in the sim when the error occurred. With such massive hard drives as you are using there is no way you are running out of space. The operating system just THINKS it is running out of space. Have you had a look at the settings in the BIOS. How have you got the swap file setup in the BIOS.BTW What operating system are you using?Cheers,Roger

hi roger,i am using xp. i haven't touched the bios. how do you think i should have the swap file set up? thanks for your help ....patrick.

Do you have any third party sceneries installed? Especially landclass addons? If incorrectly installed, those can cause "memory leaks" which lead the the out of diskspace warning message being falsely displayed.

thanks jimmie,i will check all my scenery and especially landclass addons.patrick.
