The only thing about Nicks Guide is it does not take into account Sand Bridge ( not forgetting Ivy) processors.You will notice he currently runs an i7 980. Pre Sandy Bridge is fine for Nicks guide,so for the latest hardware I highly recommend Word Not Allowed's guide.

 

For setting up Windows 7, Nicks set up tutorial is a must.

If you take a look at PMDG NGX Manual, it is clearly written that they recommend Venetubo FSX.cfg tweak, thats PMDG.

 

Another tweak/tips is from Mathijs Kok, he is one of F 16 developer team, he also actively participates in other aerosoft products.

 

Above all, most probably some, if not all, the tweaks and breakthroughs exist now are originated from Nick's Guide, he wrote amazing and WORKING tips and tweaks, not only inside FSX itself but also a system as a whole, OS for instance.

 

Now, I do not know about other simmers, but I prefer recommendation from those who are proven to be qualified and reliable in their fields. I believe, what we can do is try those tweaks and find what's best and work for us, instead of addressing judgmental statement, unless you are somewhat at the same or higher level of comprehension, I'm refering to Nick.

 

My opinion, it's a humble one of course, Venetubo does work. Those who say the opposite should prove something, and a fix would be nice. Other than that, having hundreds of experiments is NOT enough to deny or decline a professional Microsoft Flight Simulator practitioner, Im refering to Mathijs.

 

20 simmers have 20 (personal) opinions and of course, preferences How can you put a fixed standard that can be accepted by all?

 

I'm using Venetubo and for the FSX settings, I stick with Mr. Kok, Word Not Allowed's only does good for High End System not for me (nothing personal, just preference), and my GPU driver setting I use TAB and my own experiments and I do not have to convince you they work and for my OS tweak, Nick's guide is the best... at least to me, to my system, to my preference and to my FPS holy grail. Above all, I have no capacity to judge what's work best. Do you?
